Marking a momentous milestone in our expansion journey, Refractotherm India LLP has officially inaugurated a brand new, fully automated production line dedicated to manufacturing high-purity alumina slide gate plates and flow control systems. This state-of-the-art expansion represents a significant capital investment in automation, workplace safety, and capacity enhancement.
Advanced Robotics and Automated Quality Control
The new manufacturing line integrates next-generation hydraulic pressing machinery, automated raw material mixing plants, and advanced robotic handling systems. Crucially, the line features a customized laser-scanning inspection system that checks each slide gate plate for dimensional accuracy up to micrometric tolerances, ensuring zero-defect output and maintaining the highest safety standards for liquid steel containment.

With this expansion, our total manufacturing capacity for slide gate plates and purging plug systems has increased by approximately 30%. The integration of high-efficiency gas-fired curing kilns also reduces our energy consumption per ton of finished refractory, supporting our ongoing corporate commitment to ecological sustainability and lower carbon manufacturing footprints.
The new line is fully operational as of June 2026, and the first batch of advanced high-purity alumina refractories has already been successfully dispatched to our leading global metallurgy clients.
