Alumina-Spinel Castables

Alumina Spinel Castables
Product Overview

Alumina-Spinel Castables

Alumina Spinel Castables are high-performance refractory castables engineered using high-purity alumina aggregates, reactive alumina, magnesia, and advanced low-cement bonding systems. During high-temperature operation, magnesia reacts with alumina to form magnesium aluminate spinel, creating a dense and durable refractory structure with exceptional resistance to basic slags, thermal shock, and structural spalling.

These castables are extensively used in steelmaking applications where severe thermal cycling, slag attack, and mechanical stresses are encountered. The in-situ spinel formation improves corrosion resistance, reduces slag penetration, and enhances lining durability, making Alumina Spinel Castables a preferred choice for steel ladles, electric arc furnaces, refining vessels, and other critical high-temperature process units.

  • Excellent resistance to basic and alkaline slag attack
  • Superior thermal shock and spalling resistance
  • High hot strength and structural stability at elevated temperatures
  • Reduced slag penetration resulting in longer lining service life
